Hospital Mill Level Crossing: Network Rail Scotland and the British Transport Police (BTP) are raising awareness of the dangers of misusing level crossings, after multiple incidents at a crossing in Fife involving delivery vehicles. This is a view of Hospital Mill Level Crossing, a little south west of Springfield in Fife.
Eastleigh: SWR 444006, on the down fast bound for Southampton at around 100mph, passes 158880 waiting in the platform at Eastleigh.
Shawforth: A deceptive picture on the old trackbed to the north of the site of Shawforth station. It perhaps appears fairly level in this view but this is a 1:39 gradient and the line is on a substantial stone embankment above the main road houses. One of the reasons the line from Rochdale to Facit was built was to access local stone and the L&YR made plentiful use of it when the branch was extended over the summit to Bacup.
Cullercoats: 555021 leaves Cullercoats, on a journey from St James to South Shields via Wallsend, Whitley Bay and Haymarket, on 13th June 2025. The red striped light acting as a secondary tail lamp on this occasion is illuminated as yellow when at the front of the train and gives a slightly retro 'cat’s whiskers' look which I suspect wasn’t the intention but is actually quite attractive.
March: 66047, 6L42 1007 Mountsorrel to Barham stone, passing March on a very hot 1st July 2025 down in the Fens.
Ashington Colliery: A former BR class 14 shunts the Wagon Repair Shop sidings. Many of these locos were sold into industry.
Ramsbottom: Visiting locomotives 37716 + 57002 'Winston Churchill' at Ramsbottom with the 20:20 Rawtenstall to Bury, non stop. East Lancashire Railway Summer Diesel Gala Saturday 5th July 2025.
Edinchip Accommodation Bridge: A final look back towards Edinchip House and Strathyre.
Eastleigh: DBC 66168, northbound through Eastleigh with 4M71, the Southampton Docks to Birch Coppice Sidings on 24th June 2025.
