Ordsall Chord: A view of the Ordsall Chord bridge on a warm summer evening, 18th June 2025. What looks like a canal is in fact the River Irwell, which can often be flowing a lot faster than this. The river span is the well known part of the Ordsall Chord but the majority of it is elevated on a viaduct constructed at the same time.
Carlisle: Detailed cabside information details on West Coast Railway's 57008, also bearing a 10A Carnforth shedplate. The former Freightliner loco was on 1Z87 Charter at Carlisle with 47815 on 12th July 2025.
Carmuirs East Junction: 66407 passes Carmuirs East with 4A11, the 10.36 Grangemouth - Aberdeen in March 2005. The signal box was a survivor closing, from memory, in December 2017.
Kilcreggan Pier: MV ‘Maid of Skelmorlie’ calling at Kilcreggan in 1970. The pier made the news in 2023, a plan to modernise it being rejected after a successful local campaign to retain instead the Victorian features, including the signalling tower. The renewal work was completed in 2024.
Curriehill: GBRf 66764 leans into the curve approaching Curriehill with 4E04 from Mossend to Doncaster Iport. A fully loaded service on 16th July 2025.
Sheffield Park: The Bluebell Railway’s Standard 5 No 73082 'Camelot' is heading the 'Golden Arrow' at Sheffield Park on 13 April 2025. It is in superb condition - witness the reflections on the loco.
Sleaford: Class 20s 20159 and 20142 seen at Sleaford running round with the 'Metro Trent' rail tour, a Hertfordshire Railtours special that ran from Marylebone to various places including Aylesbury, Lincoln St Marks and Derby. A good day out on 16th May 1981.
Lochearnhead [2nd]: Underside of the bridge to the south of Lochearnhead station. This trackbed here was, until relatively recently, a very overgrown footpath. It has been improved in recent years.
Evesham: A view of Evesham station, with a HST calling, on 13th December 2009.
