This spartan single platform terminal station replaced the terminus of the line immediately to the north and closer to the harbour, Ardrossan Winton Pier. Trains run to Glasgow Central.

There is a covered walkway to the nearby Caledonian MacBrayne ticket office and waiting room for the ferry service to Brodick Pier on Arran.
