Ballat Crossing (1856-1959)

Opened on the Forth and Clyde Junction Railway.

Description

This was a signalled level crossing with home and distance signals. A crossing keeper's cottage was on the east side of the line.

Since closure the road has been re-aligned. The level crossing was only very slightly to the south of the well known very tight bend here. The cottage has not survived.
