This was a single platform halt with a timber platform and wooden waiting shed. The platform was on the south side of the line.
The halt was opened by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway as late as 1935, despite repeated calls for a halt.
Ballinluig Public School had closed in 1934, along with those at Weem and Invervar, to save money.
Some of the cutting this halt was located in is still present, often lined with bagged bales. There are no obvious remains.
A derailment occurred near here on the 20th of November 1959 when a portion of embankment was washed away. The accident happened in the dark.
