GNoSR Railcars

In 1905 the works supplied vertical boilers for two railcars for the Great North of Scotland Railway. Steam engines for the railcars were built by Andrew Barclay, Sons & Co. The bodies were built at Inverurie Works. There were seats for 45 passengers and there was a small guard's compartment.

The railcars were used on a number of GNSR lines, but were described as 'experimental'. They were withdrawn within a couple of years having been found to be noisy, ride poorly and unable to keep a good head of steam. Having been withdrawn the components were able to be reused for some years.
