Description

This chemical works was opened by Roche to the north of Dalry around 1958. The site has been owned by DSM since 2003. The site produces, amongst other things, vitamin C.

The site is rail served from Swinlees Junction at the Dalry Loops, a short section of the once quadrupled main line. Access is by reversal from the northbound loop to gain access to a series of dead end sidings and a line which runs to the west to enter the site itself. The works has its own locomotive.
