Former iron works south of Workington on the west side of the Whitehaven Junction Railway, north of the Moss Bay Steel Works and Solway Colliery.
The southern part of the site was the original iron works and the northern portion the steel works. After closure the site was partly cleared and partly reused in an expansion of the Moss Bay Steel Works.
Served by both the Whitehaven Junction Railway and the Derwent Branch of the Cleator and Workington Railway which crossed the former to approach the iron works and then run north to the steel works.
