Description

The headquarters of Caledonian MacBrayne is by Gourock station.

Argyll Ferries , owned by Caledonian MacBrayne, operate a passenger ferry service between Gourock Pier and Dunoon Pier.

From 2011 the ferry service became passenger only, the ro-ro service ending. The facility remains for use in emergencies.

Returns to Clyde in 1869 for the Helensburgh Pier to Dunoon Pier and Holy Loch service.
01/07/1915PS Isle of Cumbrae
With installation of the Cloch-Dunoon boom sailings are cut back to Glasgow to Dunoon Pier (north of the boom).

Ferry services cut back (just prior to the outbreak of the World War II). With the war, PS Lucy Ashton became the only vessel operating out of Craigendoran Pier to Helensburgh Pier, Kilcreggan Pier, Gourock Pier, Kirn Pier and Dunoon Pier.
15/07/1977PS Waverley [IV]
Becomes stuck on the Gantocks, off Dunoon Pier and is stranded. Damaged but refloated with tide. Withdrawn for drydocking and repairs.
