Description

This is a two platform station. Midland Railway style buildings remain on the platforms and there is a fine signal box.

To the north of the station was formerly the junction for Hawes. To serve this the southbound platform had a further face. The trackbed of this now lifted line is a car park.

Opened for passengers to meet the Hawes Branch (Midland Railway) over which the North Eastern Railway had running powers to Hawes Junction (now Garsdale). Built as a single track line.
