This was a 14 span double track viaduct and is now a 10 span girder viaduct. It crosses Glen Ury and the Cowrie Water.
The viaduct originally had timber arches between the stone piers. Reconstruction with iron girders began in 1883 and was completed in 1885, one of several bridges rebuilt on the Caledonian Railway system in this period.
The Glenury Royal Distillery was to the south east.
The viaduct is north east of Stonehaven station.
