Description

36 Hill Street Glasgow was the address of Murdoch, Aitken and Co's Hill Street Foundry. The works produced the first locomotives built in Scotland, for the [[Monkland and Kirkintilloch Railway.

Building locomotives was a departure for the company which build stationary and marine engines.
