This is a single track girder viaduct on a curve of 576 ft, consisting of nine spans of 60 ft. The viaduct is on the Horseshoe Curve, south of Bridge of Orchy and north of County March Summit [West Highland].
The viaduct crosses Allt Kinglass and a land rover track to Loch Lyon familiar to many walkers.
The 'Horseshoe Curve' is well known for the huge meander the railway takes to keep to the same contour, a long curve where, on the way north, the route ahead can be seen on the left and the train will be travelling in exactly the reverse direction, so tight is the curve.
