This is a two platform station in the south west of the town of Settle. The main station building is on the southbound platform. The town is also served by the more distant Giggleswick station further to the west.
The goods yard was to the south on the east side of the line, with a looped line, cattle pens and goods shed. The signal box was to the south of the station, located between the running lines and goods yard.
The signal box closed in 1984 and was relocated further north in 1997 and subsequently restored. It can be found behind the south end of the southbound platform.
The station is notable for the converted former water tank which can be seen on the east side of the station's road entry.
