This level crossing is west of Helensburgh Upper. The farm was to the south, this crossing giving access to the farmland to the north of the line.
A train was derailed here in the very early days of the West Highland Railway by a child who placed a stone on the track.
The level crossing still exists, largely replaced by a underline bridge to the west.
