Rail travellers are facing major disruption at one of Britains busiest railway stations as work prepares to start on the countrys new high-speed line “ even before the project is given the official go-ahead by parliament. Preparatory work will begin at Euston station in London at the end of this year as part of the first phase of HS2, to run between the capital and Birmingham. It will lead to up to half of platforms at the station being shut every Sunday throughout next year, forcing some train companies to run a reduced service on the west coast mainline.
