Nobody has caught a train here since 1962. However not many caught one before then either, as this face was for Edinburgh Princes Street only a few hundred yards away and trams and buses on Dalry Road were plentiful and cheaper. The other face of this island platform has not survived, presumably as it got in the way of the 1974 West Approach Road (background) on the course of the main line.

A desperately forlorn Dalry Road station and locomotive shed, looking west, in the winter of 1965-66. Nowadays the view to the left is dominated by Edinburgh's West Approach Road, but miraculously the platform face on the right has survived adajacent to a public path which follows the solum for a short distance see image [[29494]].
