Network Rail was fined £4m yesterday for safety failures that led to a train derailment which killed a pensioner and injured 86 other passengers.

Top Network Rail bosses have received smaller bonuses because of the derailment of a Virgin train in Cumbria.

An Edinburgh security manager who survived the Cumbrian train derailment today said there should be no 'witch hunt' following the crash.
