Northern Corridor Community Volunteers (NCCV) were awarded more than £4000 in funding fromPaths for All, with support from NatureScot, to promote walking opportunities around the disused Strathkelvin Railway Path near Moodiesburn.

A Kirkintilloch historian and author has been awarded an MBE in the Queen's New Year Honours list for services to libraries and heritage in Scotland.
