At the former Kincardine Powerstation Yard is a short branch with a loop which was used for loading coal onto trains for the short journey to Longannet Power Station, until the power station's closure.

The junction was double track with the branch singling just beyond the junction. The signal box was in the 'V' of the junction. The junction was north of Kincardine itself.

This was a two platform station with a loop on a single track line. It was originally a terminus of the Kincardine Branch (North British Railway), opened in 1893. Ferry Pier was to the west. The goods yard was to the north over a level crossing, on the east side of the line and approached from the south. The line continued past the station to terminate with a loop on Shipping Pier.
