Looking north towards Corstorphine Hill in 1972 with the site of Dalry Middle Junction on the other side of the gap left by the former railway bridge across Dalry Road. The diverging trackbeds of the old Caledonian routes to Haymarket West Junction (left) and Coltbridge Junction (right) can be clearly seen. The trackbed running off to the left is now occupied by part of Edinburgh's West Approach Road.
