Looking northward from the north end of the Connel Bridge in October 1987. The site of North Connel station (containers on trackbed) stands on the left. The roadway ran along the west side of the Connel Bridge, crossed the railway on the level at this point and then dived down to run under the bridge shown in image 22726. All now vanished under a new road scheme in the triumph of the motor car
