Haigh
The old station House at Haigh (closed 1965), sited on the down side of the Wakefield to Barnsley line approximately 500metres south of Woolley Tunnel south portal. The former station is only 100metres across a field from the M1 motorway, near junction 38, and faces the grounds of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park beyond the motorway. There were calls some years ago to reopen the station to give easy non-car access to the Sculpture Park, unfortunately to no avail.
