Preston (Ribble Branch)
Cold start. The 650hp Paxman Ventura engine of D9539 bursts into life ready for Santa Special duties on the RSR. The Class 14 was on the rear of the five coach services with Austerity 0-6-0ST Walkden at the front. With this immaculate diesel's restoration complete the RSR now has all the power needed for these heavy trains.
