Galashiels from close to the site of the signalbox at what had been the north end of the old station. The roadway was the railway. The new alignment is on virgin territory running through the old buildings to the left which were demolished. At this location in the early days there was a level crossing which was replaced by a bridge further south, the second incarnation of that bridge being seen here. The new station's location is behind the camera on the other side of the road. See image 26307.
