Wanton Walls Junction

The Lothian number 30 'electric bus' heading west along Newcraighall Road on its way from Musselburgh to Clovenstone on 5 July 2018. The bus has just passed the abutments of the bridge that carried the Lothian Lines from Wanton Walls to Niddrie North see image 64908 and is currently running alongside the surviving south abutment of the adjacent bridge that stood on the route to Niddrie West Junction. Much of the trackbed of the latter has been obliterated by housing developments in recent years, including the under construction 'Newcraighall Village' as advertised on the board alongside the road entrance on the left.
