Scarborough Road Junction

The road overbridge on Scarborough Road in Norton North Yorkshire, seen in a view looking west towards the town centre, sat above Scarborough Road Junction. The junction was at the south end of a south to west spur linking the line running from Pilmoor on the ECML, that continued towards Driffield, to the York to Scarborough line. Through holiday specials from the North East or Scotland to Scarborough would stop south of the junction and then be pulled back over the spur towards Malton Station to then continue forward to the east coast resort. The spur has been built over, as is the land to the immediate south of the bridge, but a little further on much of the trackbed is extant to Settrington & North Grimston.
