A Waverley-bound service accelerates through South Gyle after a stop at Edinburgh Gateway. There are several pairs of stations in Scotland which are closer together, but here, with few exceptions, trains call at one or the other but not both. This is probably to do with pathing on a main line and to avoid further slowing down locals.
