Southport Lord Street

Southport, 2014. The white roofed building lower right is a supermarket, on the site of Lord Street CLC station (closed 1952). This survived to the 1980s as a bus station, later demolished apart from the Lord Street frontage 63231. Centre left is another white roof, train shed of Chapel Street station. The tracks towards Wigan are easy to see, those to Liverpool less so. The Wigan line passes another supermarket, on the site of the steam shed, later Steamport preservation centre which relocated to Preston Dock as the Ribble Steam Railway. Top right the Wigan line can be seen. Its direct line into Southport is long built over. The curving line through Meols Cop is under the cloud shadow.
