Headbolt Lane
Merseyrail BiMode 3rd Rail & Battery powered BEMU 777148, seen after arrival at Headbolt Lane at 14.28, with the 14.05 service ex Liverpool Central that I had boarded at Kirkdale. I was chatting to the conductor when there was a loud noise from below the carriage around Fazakerley, which he said was from the collector shoes retracting and the unit changing over to Battery power for the rest of the journey through to Headbolt Lane.
