Ferryhill Shed [1st]

An inspection pit was discovered and excavated by volunteers from the Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust adjacent to the original engine shed seen on the left of shot. I estimated it to be about forty metres long. There is no indication of the age of the pit but the Shed itself dates from around 1850 which puts it into the Early Railways era according to railway history convention.
