Middleton Junction

Looking south along Joshua Lane at Middleton Junction on a murky 27th December 2024. The large brick abutment once supported a steel bridge that carried the Middleton branch over the road until 1965. Beyond the bridge the wall encloses Greengate Brewery, established by J. W. Lees on this site in 1828 and still brewing today as it approaches its bi-centenary.
