West Brompton [Metro]

LU S7 stock, District Line to Wimbledon, arriving at West Brompton at 12.50 on Monday, 17th February 2025. This station was opened alongside the West London Extension Railway station of 1866 (on left, closed 1940, reopened 1999) by the Metropolitan District Railway on 12th April 1869; the original plan to connect with the WLER to allow LSWR trains to run over the District to its then terminus at Mansion House never materialised. West Brompton remained as the terminus of a short branch from Earl's Court until 1st March 1880 when the line was extended to Putney Bridge and through to Wimbledon over LSWR tracks on 3rd June 1889.
