Wanstead

The severely plain street level building to Wanstead station, east London, opened on 14th December 1947 as part of the eastern extension of the LU Central Line from Liverpool Street, seen here at 14.10 on Tuesday, 14th January 2025. Designed by Dr. Charles Holden (1875-1960), it is one of the lesser examples of this acclaimed architect's works.
