Rock Ferry

777010, Merseyrail Wirral Line to Chester arriving at Rock Ferry, at 12.01 on Wednesday, 30th April 2025. On the right behind the advertising hoarding is the trackbed once used by the long-standing London Paddington to Birkenhead Woodside service, withdrawn by BR in March 1967. Diesel units from Chester and Ellesmere Port continued to use those platforms and tracks, although cut back from Woodside to Rock Ferry in November 1967 which saw Woodside finally closed and eventually demolished, until Merseyrail electrification was extended from Rock Ferry to Hooton on 30th September 1985.
