Didcot Parkway: A fly splattered 387159 on an ex-Paddington express service at Didcot on 4th June 2021. The temporary withdrawal of GWR 800 units for urgent repairs has led to these EMUs working through to Swindon for the first time.

Lea Road Watertroughs: Good progress is being made on the Lea Viaduct of the new Preston Western Distributor Road with decking now in place. The bridge will span the railway and the Lancaster Canal. This glimpse of 331002 and 331023 heading for Blackpool North was taken from the reopened canal towpath. See image [[74682]] of this location in October 2020.

Annan: Looking north west from St Johns Road, Annan in 2002, over a railway scene much changed in the previous 25 years. What were substantial goods facilities on both sides of the line here have gone, with the old down yard currently a wasteland, save for a siding terminating at a point where a footpath now gives access to the northbound platform. Beyond the main station building the former up yard is now occupied by commercial premises including a Royal Mail delivery office. The original building that once stood on the down platform has given way to a modern shelter. Annan signal box survives in the background. For the same view in 1955 see image [[31280]].

Edinburgh Park: It is always easy to identify an Airdrie - Bathgate line service on this bit of the EGML as 334s are the exclusive fare. On 5 June 2021 an incoming service approaches Edinburgh Park, passing under the tram bridge and between edge of town hotels (for cheapskates).

Bond Street [LTB]: Stratford-bound platform at Bond Street, in the heart of London's West End, on 29th May 2021. This section of the Jubilee Line opened in 1979 and is an interchange with the Central Line that had opened here 79 years earlier. Eventually, and goodness knows when, Bond Street will also become a Crossrail station but, even when that opens, there are mutterings that its Bond Street station will still not be ready on opening day and may have to open later.

Farington Junction: 47813 and 47245 slowly approach Farington Junction on 1 June 2021 with the WCRC 'The Dalesman' railtour from Chester to Carlisle. The train had been scheduled to go to Preston before reversing to Blackburn but late running resulted in the use of the short cut to Lostock Hall Junction.
