The station closed in 1960 and all platforms and buildings have been removed.

Edinburgh Gateway [Tram]: Officially opened in December 2016, Edinburgh Gateway train/tram interchange was quickly dubbed a 'multi-million pound white elephant' by the media. The south face of the interchange building is seen here bathed in January sunshine one month after opening, with a tram leaving for York Place amid landscaping works still in progress. Note the passengers through the glass on the left descending the escalator from the main station to reach the tram platforms. The lines passing below the railway/tramway link bridge continue as far as Gogar tram depot.

It is now owned by Transport for London and served by London Overground as well as National Rail Southern services. Not to be confused with the former and now demolished Honor Oak station on the LCDR's Crystal Palace High Level branch, opened in 1865 and closed in 1954 and which paralleled the Croydon line about a mile or so to the west. (Coincidentally, 1954 was also the year the GNR Alexandra Palace branch in north London closed after almost becoming part of the London Underground Northern Line.)
