Cardross: The first northbound Caledonian Sleeper for a few weeks passes Cardross on 28 June 2021 with 66738 and 73967 leading the rake of coaches to Fort William.
North Queensferry: An Edinburgh bound SPT liveried DMU calls at North Queensferry on the afternoon of 8 September 2008. The train will shortly depart and head out onto the Forth Bridge, much of which is bedecked in scaffolding and protective sheeting at this time. Beyond the bridge the Pentland Hills form the horizon approximately 11 miles to the south.
Thornton Yard: Thornton Yard sidings seen from the north in 2005.
Oxford: DB 66129 with a northbound freight through Oxford on 27th April 2021. This was a Southampton MCT to Birch Coppice Sidings working at 1225 hours.
Inverkeithing: Roller blades? I think the last time I saw anyone with those the year started with a '1'. Anway, there's another prohibition for cyclists to ignore.
Queenstown Road: A few years ago there was some talk of reopening the disused side platform at Queenstown Road but, as can be seen, that has yet to come to pass. The station was known as Queens Road Battersea, from its opening in 1877, to distinguish it from Queens Road Peckham on the LBSCR South London Line. Although the name of the Battersea thoroughfare was changed from Queens Road to Queenstown Road just after WWII, it was not until 12th May 1980 that the station was also renamed. This view is from a train to Waterloo departing from the north side of the remaining island platform, on 7th June 2021.
Lossie Viaduct: This view looks south towards Elgin over the River Lossie and the A96. The railway bridge was removed as part of the Elgin flood prevention scheme a couple of years ago. The trackbed to the A96 crossing has been obliterated by various industrial estates.
Townhill Wagon Shops: Townhill's wagon shops yard (and the shops) is seen in a 1974 view from a passing train. The view shows nothing but 16T mineral wagons, presumably for repair. The two nearer sidings, with mineral wagons, were part of the older Townhill yard sidings.
Drybridge: Operating an excursion from Ayr to York on 26th June 2021, the 'Midland Pullman' HST passes through the remains of Drybridge station around 0800 en-route to its next pickup at Kilmarnock.
Garelochhead: 156457 arrives at Garelochhead on 18 June 2021 with the early evening Glasgow to Oban service.
Bay Horse: Standing in for the more usual Class 66/6, 70017 works the Hardendale to Tunstead box wagons south through Bay Horse on 17th June 2021.
