Hunts Cross: Pioneer 507001, now secured for preservation, is seeing out its Merseyrail days in a recently applied blue and grey livery, very similar to that applied to the set when it was new. It achieved fame when Her Majesty The Queen rode in the unit to to Kirkby in October 1978, to inaugurate new Merseyrail electric services, and the following month it formed the first Merseyrail public service working from Southport into Liverpool Central. Here the unit, coupled to 507018, is at Hunts Cross waiting to return to Southport on 8th May 2024.
The Shore [Tram]: Zoom lens view of Edinburgh Trams no. 265, taken from The Shore, coming along the street from Port of Leith with a service from Newhaven to Airport, at 10.23 on Tuesday, 4th June 2024.
Talbot Square [Tram]: Behind the driver view from a T3 tram from Blackpool North to Fleetwood as it pulls away from the new stop at Talbot Square, about to turn right onto the tramway 'main line' at the triangular junction in front of the North Pier. This was the second day of public operations on the branch, 17th June 2024. T2 trams swing left at this point to go south to Starr Gate.
Auchindachy: Passing a former platelayers' hut, the 16.20 from Keith Town heads towards Auchindachy on its journey to Dufftown on 15th June 2024.
Poulton-le-Fylde: A July 2023 grab view looking along the solum of the former Fleetwood branch line, from a Northern Trains service to Blackpool North. The connections to the main line were removed during the electrification works in 2018. Could the three stacks of sleepers be those recovered from the short lengths of track that ran onto the branch from the old junction, or are they biding time awaiting the call for track to be relaid?
Aberdeen Blaikie's Quay: Looking from the Shetland ferry over Blaikie's Quay in June 2024, with surviving but disconnected embedded sidings.
Aberdeen: Class A3 60090 'Grand Parade' departing southbound with 1715 Aberdeen-Glasgow during Autumn 1963.
Mellis: 1985 and the overhead wires are up at Mellis. The crossing gates and signal box are still in use but on borrowed time.
North Pier [Tram]: 'Flexity' 017 is heading for Fleetwood at North Pier on 1st May 2024. The North Pier platforms are staggered by over 250 yards, being north and south of the triangular junction for the new Blackpool North station line.
