Sheringham (North Norfolk): D3935, which under TOPS was 08767, at sunny or not so sunny Sheringham on 10th June 2024. I remember seeing 08767 at Colchester often on my daily commute to Liverpool Street. The TOPS number means more to me than D3935. The Colchester shunters could be found at Harwich Parkeston Quay in the yard and, for those who lived far away, could be difficult to spot in the old days as often hidden by the large number of wagons in that yard. All different days now with hardly an 08 to be seen anywhere at all.

Cameron Bridge [1st]: Cameron Bridge station looking towards Leven in 1969 prior to closure in October of that year. The new station is a short distance beyond the road bridge in this shot.

Friezland: Between Micklehurst and Uppermill the old Micklehurst loop line is a public bridleway known as the Tame Valley Way. Friezland was an intermediate station in the village of Greenfield and a short distance from there on the way to Uppermill this bridge still carries a public fotpath over the old cutting. This view looks up the gradient towards Uppermill and Diggle.

East Linton: East Linton, looking towards Dunbar, at 12.35 on Tuesday, 4th June 2024. The original station, slightly to the east, was opened as Linton by the NBR with the line from Edinburgh to Berwick-upon-Tweed, on 22nd June 1846. It was renamed East Linton in December 1864 but closed on 4th May 1964. It took just under sixty years to rectify this mistake with the new station opening on 13th December 2023. It is unstaffed and, worse, like the new stations at Leven and Cameron Bridge, lacks public conveniences. Part of the old station still stands (see my image [[67260]], from 28th February 2018.)

Brunswick: The present Brunswick station opened in 1998, serving the Toxteth residential district and nearby Brunswick Dock business park. An earlier Brunswick station only operated from 1854 to 1864 and was a terminus, superseded by the line opening to Liverpool Central, High level station. The station building can be seen on the Liverpool platform as 777003 calls with a Southport to Hunts Cross service on 8th May 2024.
