Ardchyle Viaduct: The stump of the up distant for Killin Junction in a view looking west.
Aberdeen Waterloo: The Buchan & Mearns railtour, organised by the SLS and Strathspey R.A., at Aberdeen Waterloo on 26th May 1973. In addition to Waterloo the tour also visited Brechin and Fraserburgh.
Perth: 158731 waits at platform 6 in Perth with the 17.21 service to Edinburgh on 29th June 2024.
Settrington: View looking at the former Settrington station, that was on the line between Malton Scarborough Road Junction and Driffield, and was the station before North Grimston when heading to Driffield. The two stations are only around 1 & 1/2 miles miles apart, with Settrington being sited more to serve the nearby Settrington Grange than the village of Settrington; which was some distance from the station.
Sandhills: At the start of July 2024 there were still nine Class 507s in service with Merseyrail, working diagrams on the Southport line. All 777s are reported delivered now so it is unlikely they will have long to go before withdrawal. 507001 is to be preserved, and two coaches of 507028 are in use at the Merseyside Fire Service training facility, but all other sets are scheduled to follow the others to Sims scrapyard in Newport. On 8th May 507017 called at Sandhills on a Hunts Cross to Southport service.
Wooden Gate Junction: Empty alumina tanks from Fort William approach the crossing at Wooden Gate Junction, south of Alnmouth, headed by GBRf 66740 'Sarah' and destined for North Blyth on 23rd June 2024. Up and down passenger loops are still in use but the mineral line to Shilbottle Colliery, served by the junction, is closed and now in use as a footpath.
Gunton: Gunton station on 13th June 2024. I am looking towards Cromer on the operational platform with the disused one in private use opposite.
Uppermill Viaduct: Uppermill Viaduct, on the Standedge route between Greenfield and Diggle, is often known as Saddleworth Viaduct as the station of that name was just at the north end of the structure. This June 2024 view shows one of the arches, which straddles the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
Crouch Hill: 66615, West Thurrock Sidings to Tunstead Sidings, passing south-west through Crouch Hill station on the GOBLIN section of the London Overground, at 14.23 on Thursday, 25th April 2024.
