Penzance: Not every station has an adjacent heliport. On the other hand, some might have a Tourist Information office which is open on a summer Saturday. Such a facility might be able to tell you where to buy a coffee after 3pm on a Saturday; I don't think I will rush back to Penzance.
Rothesay Pier: No shortage of activity at Rothesay pier on this fine summer day in 1969. Regular visitors MV ‘Maid of Skelmorlie’ and PS ‘Caledonia’ are in view, the latter on a special charter sailing.
Ravenstruther: 318 255 passes the under-construction Ravenstruther Coal Terminal, heading north. It now serves as a loading point for Cloburn Quarry.
Driffield: 158850 leaves Driffield with a Hull to Scarborough working on 24th August 2015. For a similar view taken in July 1975 see image [[88502]]
Woodhouse: Steam on Sunday 45212 passing Woodhouse, on a Preston to Derby excursion, on 27th October 2024.
Inverkeithing East Junction: Less glamorous duties for Royal Scotsman-liveried 66743, on 6K14 from Dundee Central Junction to Millerhill, looped at Inverkeithing and passed by 170433 and 158730 on the 09.01 from Dundee to Edinburgh on 27th October 2024.
Mossbay Steel Works: Footbridge from Seaview Drive into the Steel Works and the rail entry off the Cumbrian Coast line to the Steel Works.
Woodbridge: Woodbridge, the showpiece station of the East Suffolk Line, dating from 1859 and complete with original buildings and their serrated wooden canopies on both platforms, looking south towards Ipswich from the northbound platform, on 3rd May 2023.
Crieff Viaduct: This bridge carried Lady Mary's Walk over the Crieff to Comrie line. The bridge is on the western edge of Crieff, west of Crieff Viaduct. Lady Mary's Walk runs west from Crieff between the former railway and the River Earn for about a mile. It is named for Lady Mary Murray. The footpath provides a useful alternative to the trackbed for several sections where it is impassable.
Edinburgh Waverley: 26028 has some nice new cars in tow, Metros and Rover 200s. I'm thinking this was the Millerhill to Bathgate trip which conveyed cars from Washood Heath loaded at Longbridge. One did not see that much freight at Waverley as most went via the sub.
