East Kilbride: 156494 looks on as preparation work is underway at East Kilbride to construct a new station building to house a booking office, waiting room and retail unit. The station remodelling is due for completion in June 2025 with the overall electrification project planned to be completed in late 2025.

Bay Horse: 66419 has spent most of its main line service operating in the rather plain early DRS blue livery, including after it transferred to Freightliner. Now however it has received the latest bright orange scheme, seen here as it heads north through the cutting at Forton, with box wagons from Guide Bridge to Shap, on 22nd October 2024.

Kirkby Stephen East: Two saddle tank locos stored safely inside the Stainmore Railway station at Kirkby Stephen East, but not in steam during my November 2024 visit.

Hatfield and Stainforth: 56090 has steel empties from Rotherham to Scunthorpe, passing Hatfield and Stainforth station in November 2003. A bit of a glint on this as the sun was low in the west.

Strowan Tunnel: A white peacock on the former trackbed about a mile and a half west of Strowan Tunnel. For over a mile the trackbed is fairly overgrown, but passable.
