Firhill Timber Basin: Looking east to the northern entrance to Firhill Basin, once used for storing timber for local sawmills. The towpath bridge has been removed, enabling the wooded area beyond to become a wildlife habitat.

Saltburn Viaduct: Having just passed through Saltburn West Junction, 66150 in DB 'We are the future' livery digs into the climb as it passes over Saltburn Viaduct with its train of steel billet for Skinningrove Steelworks. Although it appears that it is running light engine the sound left no doubt that the locomotive was working at full power and the heavily laden low profile wagons can be just discerned over the viaduct parapet.
