Morecambe Harbour: Morecambe Harbour station on 12th December 2024. 120 years after the last passengers passed through it is still in year round use as a cafe on Morecambe's Stone Jetty. Behind is the LMS built Midland Hotel. See image [[19108]] from the same position in 2008 when the hotel rebuild was nearing completion after many years of dereliction. If the Morecambe Bay Eden North project comes to fruition as planned it will really improve the town's fortunes, and hopefully have a positive impact on the railway from Lancaster too.

Seaton Delaval: 158860 and 158843, with the ex-11.53 Northern service from Newcastle to Ashington, calling at Seaton Delaval on the First Day of the reopened line, just over 60 years since it closed to passengers in 1964, looking back towards Newcastle, at 12.10 on Sunday, 15th December 2024. Only this station and Ashington opened on this day. Those at Northumberland Park, Newsham, Blyth Bebside and Bedlington will open sometime in 2025.

Pangbourne: Above the steep cutting on the west side of Pangbourne station was once a favorite spot to photograph the trains. A 3-car DMU from Didcot to Reading is approaching Pangbourne station in October 1986. With the electrification of the railway here this photo spot is long gone.

Tower [Tram]: Trams passing at Blackpool Tower in 2010. 'Centenary' car 643 on the left last operated in 2011, on the final day of operations before the tramway closed for modernisation. After withdrawal it first went to a caravan park in Fleetwood to serve as a site office and shop [[42562]] but more recently has been used as a static unit at a special needs school near Rugby. 'Millennium' car 724 was intended to be modified and used as a reserve for the modern trams but, although still in Blackpool, has not operated since 2013.

Newcastle Central: First day of services to Ashington. Sixty years after its short-sighted closure to passengers by Beeching in 1964, the Ashington line has at long last been reopened, although re-christened The Northumberland Line. On the First Day, 158860 with 158843 waits in Newcastle preparing to depart with the 11.53 to Ashington. I had just alighted from the 08.52 Lumo service from King's Cross, which arrived 5 minutes late at 11.45, so there was just enough time to take this photo before climbing on board.

Appleby: On the 31st July 2024, GB Railfreight 66301 wearing an immaculate gold livery and fitted with 'Drax 50' stickers passes the old cattle dock at Appleby West working the 1200 Drax AES to Tyne Coal Terminal in recognition of 50 years of Drax Power Station. The first wagon in the consist was painted in gold to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Drax. This also happened to be the first ever Biomass train to pass through Appleby on the S&C.
