Duns: Duns was a through station on the line from Reston to St. Boswells, until the line was severed to the west of here by the 1948 floods and it became a terminus again. A sparse service of trains running to and from Berwick continued for a further three years and then it became freight only until 1966. This is the old station building on the former eastbound platform, now much modified but still recognisable, on 18th November 2024.

Tynreoch Viaduct: This is the road bridge at Tynreoch where the railway crosses under the A85. Obviously it has been rebuilt and strengthened at some point after closure (1951) and after the North of Scotland Hydro Electric Board had finished using the line for the Breadalbane Scheme in 1957.

Queen Elizabeth II Bridge: View from the front of a Tyne & Wear Metro unit to South Shields, just emerged from tunnel and crossing the bridge over the River Tyne in Newcastle city centre, from north to south at 15.11 on Monday, 16th December 2024. Once across, the train will return to tunnel for the short run through Gateshead station before emerging again on the approach to Gateshead Stadium. Forward facing views will be lost forever, alas, once all the new 555 units have entered service and the old units retired so this is probably the last time I will ever be able to get views like this.
