Eye Water Viaduct: The Eye Water Viaduct carried the Eyemouth Branch from Burnmouth until closure in 1962. The structure was seriously damaged by the 1948 East Coast floods, when it lost its central pier. Rebuilding took a considerable time as other bridges on the main line had been washed away and had to be prioritised. It eventually reopened in 1949 and soldiered on for a further thirteen years. Although the steel deck is long gone it was good to see these five surviving brick pillars, photographed from the B6355 road in November 2024.
