Tynemouth: Tynemouth, Tyne & Wear Metro, looking towards Whitley Bay, at 17.00 on Monday, 16th December 2024. This was opened by the NER on 7th July 1882, replacing one from 1864 when the line was resited nearer the coast. It became a Metro station on 11th August 1980, a temporary terminus with the first stage of the network from Haymarket around the north side of the North Tyneside Loop, before extension to St. James on 14th November 1982. In the last full year of BR trains, it became a Grade 1 Listed Station on 2nd November 1978.
Donibristle: DB Cargo 66151 climbs Donibristle bank, with ballast 6K27 from Millerhill to Auchterarder, on 19th January 2025.
Crieff [1st]: This view looks north west from Duchlage Road. This would have been a view looking over the throat of the goods yard and towards the buffers. The through station was off to the right. Behind the camera Duchlage Court follows the route of the line, the houses on the north side of that road occupying the site of the locomotive sheds, timber and other sidings, and cattle pens.
Alderley Edge: 323202, recently cascaded from the West Midlands and still in gold livery, calls at Alderley Edge with a Manchester to Crewe stopping service on 6th January 2025. Some Northern services from Piccadilly terminate and turn back here while others continue through to Crewe.
