Romiley: The old Midland Railway cabin at Romiley, which once controlled a three way junction, has a definite lean to it these days and is supported at the rear by a scaffolding framework. This was the view from the end of the platform on 15th January 2025 as 195127 came off the Reddish North line with a Piccadilly to Sheffield stopping service via the Hope Valley. The route is set for a Sheffield to Piccadilly service, but the following train from Rose Hill will go straight on using the Hyde Loop.

Romiley: On 15th January 2025, TPE 185118 was engaged on empty stock shuttles between Piccadilly and Chinley East Junction running via Reddish and Romiley. This was presumably on crew training, ahead of diversions away from the usual TPE Hazel Grove and Stockport route. The set is seen passing through Romiley heading towards Marple and New Mills.
