Kittybrewster [2nd]: Looking from the St Machar Drive bridge towards Aberdeen city centre in December 2024 with 158723 hurrying past on an Aberdeen - Inverness working. The two tracks on the left are the run round loop serving the Waterloo branch, which end at a buffer stop just out of the photograph.
Embsay: Modernised Hunslet 0-6-0ST, NCB No2 Area, Durham No.69, stands in the yard at Embsay out of service on 8th June 1983.
Leslie Viaduct: Leslie Viaduct, seen from the south in 1997. Beyond is the chimney of Fettykil Paper Mill.
Romiley: The old Midland Railway cabin at Romiley, which once controlled a three way junction, has a definite lean to it these days and is supported at the rear by a scaffolding framework. This was the view from the end of the platform on 15th January 2025 as 195127 came off the Reddish North line with a Piccadilly to Sheffield stopping service via the Hope Valley. The route is set for a Sheffield to Piccadilly service, but the following train from Rose Hill will go straight on using the Hyde Loop.
Romiley: On 15th January 2025, TPE 185118 was engaged on empty stock shuttles between Piccadilly and Chinley East Junction running via Reddish and Romiley. This was presumably on crew training, ahead of diversions away from the usual TPE Hazel Grove and Stockport route. The set is seen passing through Romiley heading towards Marple and New Mills.
Motherwell MPD: 37179 and 40195 on Motherwell shed in May 1982. 37179 had been transferred north from South Wales for passenger work on the West Highland line.
Innerpeffray Bridge: Some surprisingly intact ballast about half a mile east of Innerpeffray station. Having closed to passengers in 1951 the line closed to goods, and completely, in 1967.
South Tottenham: Class 710 unit, London Overground GOBLIN (as it will always be as far as I am concerned) from Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside departing from South Tottenham, at 15.06 on Friday, 19th April 2024.
