Cameron Bridge: 37403 leads the Branch Line Society's 'The Far North' railtour through Cameron Bridge, bound for the Strathspey Railway, on 21st March 2025. 37401 is on the rear.
Appleby: Freightliner 66569 'Gerald 'The Rule Book' Riley' passing Appleby on Saturday 15th March 2025 working the 6E97 1049 New Biggin British Gyspum to Stourton Neck Sig S912 before entering Hunslet Yard for weekend stabling. This service, which works out of Tees Dock, normally operates via the Tyne Valley Line to Carlisle Yard, where the loco runs round before heading back down the S&C to the gypsum works, but due to engineering works on Teeside, the train is stabling in Leeds.
Cameron Bridge [1st]: 37401 leads the Branch Line Society's 'The Far North' railtour past the site of Cameron Bridge 1st station, on its way to Leven, on 21st March 2025.
Kettering: Kettering station has been very nicely modernised and looks smart, even on a dull day. We are looking North here.
Kirkby Stephen: Heading north on the Settle and Carlisle line, Stanier Pacific 46229 ‘Duchess of Hamilton’ approaches Kirkby Stephen with a ‘Cumbrian Mountain Pullman’ in 1982.
Rochdale East Junction: A murky day in Rochdale as Metrolink 3010 drops down the 'ski jump' after coming up from Manchester via Oldham on 12th February 2025. Prior to 2009 there was a flat junction here for the Oldham Loop, and there is still a little used turnback siding on the old formation, but the trams pass over the Network Rail tracks and then run parallel down towards the tram stop at the station entrance.
Balgowan: A view looking west along the trackbed to Balgowan, where there are houses near the former station site. A distant friend has noticed my approach.
Moy: In brilliant winter sunshine, and a strong, bitterly cold wind, 66031 takes the Tesco containers south from Inverness to Coatbridge on 22nd February 2025.
